News: Contact me by email: fortunatusfamilia(at)gmail(dot)com and I will try and answer short queries. However if an individual is not on the site or I don't have details in the notes section then I can't help. However I am always happy to compare research notes.

    • Notes
      • Marriage license (Archbispos of Canterbury):
Thomas Steward of Barton Mills esq to Lucy Hatton of Tower Street London marriage at Wandsworth "with consent of her mother" dated 5 Oct 1674
Thomas was there stated to be "abt 28" and Lucy "abt 17".

Lucy's father Roger Hatton of Mark Lane, London, Alderman of Vintry Ward was a draper and apparently involved in shipping activity. He had an MI at All Hallows Barking, died 26 Jul 1666.

Roger Hatton was bap at St Antholin 15 Sep 1622 the son of another Roger Hatton apparently by Anne Palmer "of Leicester". When he went to school he was "aged 17" Apr 1658, so at his marriage license sixteen years later when he said he was "about 28" he was really "about 33".
