        1634- l8l2. TRANSCRIBED AND EDITED BY MR. F. CLAYTON.

        "Here lyeth the body of Richard Garth Esq. who dyed the 18th day of July 1700 in the 49th year of his age."

        This gentieman wm the son of Qeorge Garth (Na 41). He married Catherina - and died sp.

        In his will dated 15th May, 1697, proved in P.C.C late August, 1700 [Nody to. 1x4), he states that he had no children by his wife, Catherine, and he bequeaths all his estates in default of issue to the use and behoof of Richard Boevey, son of Elisabeth Boevey, wife of John Boevey, late of Mindng Lane, London, merchant, etc., " soe that he take upon him, calls, and writes himselfe, by the surname of Garth always after any part of my estate shall come to him in possession by virtue of this my will."
        The aboye named John Boevey married Elisabeth, a daughter of Sir Humphrey Bennett, and Richard Garth married for his second wife Jane, her sister, hence the connection.
