Manor of Wangay.
The manor of Wangay, or Wangey, (parcel of the possessions of Barking Abbey,) was on lease, when that monastery was dissolved, to John Humphreys. King Edward VI. granted it, in 1551, to Edward Lord Clinton (fn. 65) . It was sold by him the same year to Thomas Baron, or Barnes (fn. 66) , who died seised of it in 1573 (fn. 67) . Soon afterwards it reverted to the crown.
