SIBBALD, JAMES. M.A. 1628 (Incorp. from Oxford). (Not in Al. Oxon.) Probably ord. deacon, June 11, 1620; 'C. of Snaith, and master of the Grammar School.' Perhaps V. of St James, Clerkenwell, Middlesex, 1631-5 (M.A.), and again, 1641-60 (D.D.); also P.C. of Norwood, 1650. (According to W. J. Pinks, Clerkenwell, James Sibbald, D.D., minister of Clerkenwell, 1641, was the Royalist Divine who attended James Hamilton, Earl of Cambridge on the scaffold, 1641.
