Connection??
I think that you are related to my Chipperfields, who hailed from Clavering in Essex and most of whom emigrated to Australia (NSW included) in the 1850s. Henry is a family name.My grandmother was Ruth Elizabeth Chipperfield born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, in 1891. Her father was David Chipperfield who was born in Clavering in 1851. David had a number of brothers, Nathan, Shadrack, and Elijah. Their father was Joseph Chipperfield born c.1769 also born in Clavering.
I have been in touch with other Chipperfields in Australia and was told of the link to the cricketer - was it Arthur Gordon Chipperfield? If so he was my third cousin two times removed (apparently!). Do you have the approximate year of birth for you ggrandfather Henry, please?
My grandmother, Ruth Elizabeth Chipperfield said that we were related to the circus Chipperfields and there is evidence of some fairground people in Clavering in the 1850s\1860s on some census information I have.
