At Sarm Aug 12 1745 by the Rev. John Morse .....of Arts lawful surrogate of the Rev. the worshipful Henry Plebbing .....of the Diocese of Sarum .....of the said effects of the ..John Walton deceased was granted to Eleanor Axford spinster the principal creditor of said deceased(Anne Walton) widow his relict having first in writing renounced these Eleanor Axford being first sworn by common ..the deceasd dyed interstate........thereto .....fully required.
Know all men by these presents that We Eleanor Axford of Devizes in the county of Wilts, spinster and Henry Axford gent of the County of .....are held and firmly bound unto the Right Rev. Thomas Lord Bishop of Sarum in the sum of one hundred and twenty pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britian,...in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and forty five.
The condition of this obligationis such that if ...Eleanor Axford principal creditor and Administrator of all and singular the Goods Chattels and credits of John Walton late of the Devizes above said clerk interstate deceased do make and cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of her the said Eleaenor Axford ... to see the bond or obligation here to annexed duly executed by the said Eleanor Axford and here sufficient suretys requiring you to return these presents to us or our lawful surrogate or other competent Judge in this behalf with a certificate under your hand or the hand of either of you who shall execute this our commission testifying what you or either of you shall do in the presents on or before the last day of September next ensuing the date here of otherwise these presents to be void and of none effect. In witnessess where of we have ....the seal of our office to be affixed to these presents dated at Sarum the seventh day of August in the year of our Lord 1745.

The form of the oath to be administered to the above said Eleanor Axford laying her hand on the Gospel is as follows to wit you swear that John Walton late of the Devizes in the county of Wilts Clerk deceased dyed without making any last will or testament so far as you know and believe that you will well and duly administer his effects and pay his debts so far forth as his goods chattles and credits will there to extend and the law bind you that you will make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased which have and shall come to your hand possession or knowledge and exhibit the same into the Registry of the Lord Bishop of Sarum and pays an account of your administration when you shall be thereunto lawfully required so help you God when you shall be thereunto lawfully required. And Eleanor, his daughter, died 18 Jan, 1756. Aged 20.
And Mary, wife of F.R. Humphreys Esq. died 23 March;, 1779 Aged 73.
Also F. Richmond Humphreys Esq died June 6th, 1797 Aged 62 years.
