        EQUITY COURT.
(Before Mr. Justice A H. Simpson, Chief Judge in Equity.)
        PROPOSED SALE OF CITY PROPERTY.
Re the Will of William Watson, deceased.
Mr S A Thompson, instructed by Mr. Lumsdaime, appeared for the petitioners, Mrs Watson, William George Watson, Charles Russell Watson, Walter Carter Watson, H. S. Watson, and Mrs Rowland, the firstnamed being the widow and the others the children of the late Mr William Watson; Mr. Sheppard, instructed by Mr Barker, appeared formally for the respondents, who were certain other children, and the mortgagees. There was a petition for the sale of the estate settled by the will of Mr. William Watson, of Richmond. The estate in question consists of the properties known as Nos 3, 5, and 7 Gresham-street, Nos 1, 3 and 5, Spring-street, Sydney, and also the Bells Hotel in Woolloomooloo, and the will of the testator settled the estate as for the use of the widow for life, with remainder to the children in equal shares. The grounds of the petition were that the buildings upon those properties were now old and incapable of yielding an adequate return unless extensive alterations and repairs were effected, and there was not sufficient money available in the estate to carry out the necessary improvements.
His Honour directed that there should be a sale out of Court, subject to the approval of the Master in Equity, the net proceeds of the sale to be paid into Court. Costs of all parties to be paid out of the proceeds of the sale.
