And first of all I give and bequeath my sinful Soul to God, hoping by his mercies and by the Death and Passion of my dear Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus, dying a member of his Church, that he will take me into the number of his Elect, though n)y sins are great, yet the mercies of God are greater; and I do humbly thank God that he hath given me a penitent and a contrite heart, as an earn- est of my repentance and reconciliation to himself. And here I do profess that as I have lived so I die, most constant in all the Articles of our Christian Faith, and in all the Doctrine ofGod's Holy Catholick and A postolick Church, whereofl do acknowledge the Church of Rome to be the Mother Church ; and I do verily believe that no other Church hath any Salvation in it, but only so far as it concurs with the Faith of the Church of Rome. And for my body I do leave to Christian burial in the Parish Church near the Font where we receive our Baptism and are initiated into God's Church, in the meanest manner, according to the due deserts of njy sins. And for such worldly Goods that it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, for which I give him most humble thanks, and do acknowledge lliat he hath most plentifully supplied me, and that 1 never had any wants; I do give to him that hath the Cure of Souls in this Parish, in lieu of any Tithes, Oblations, Offerings, or other Church Du'ies due unto him by the Laws of God and of the Church, the sum of Twenty Shillings, which I desire him to accept. Jtem. I desire that my Executor should give towards the adorning of the Font, either by the way of painting or otherwise, as the Church-wardens sliall think fit, the sum of Twenty Shillings. And I do humbly thank God for the benefit of my Baptism. Item. I do give a hundred poor Housekeepers of this Parish Twelve Pence a piece. Item. A reprint of a pedigree roll made in 1679 for Sir William Twysden entitled "Extract from the Pedigree of the family of Saunders of Ewell in the County of Surrey" (Miscellanea Heraldica et Genealogica, Fifth Series, Vol VIII, part IV December 1932, p.114), submitted by Sir John Ramskill Twisden, who owned the original. This roll attempts to give the coats of arms of both husbands and wives in each case, Wm Twysden apparently being rather anxious to establish his respectable connections. The roll lists "Richard Saunder of Charlwood Gent obiit Anno 1480" married to "Agnes obiit 7th Jan anno 1485". The arms below this couple are: "Coat: A shield party per pale, on the dexter the arms of Saunder as above, the sinister moiety blank." The Sander arms above were "Sable, a chevron ermine between 3 bulls' heads caboshed argent." Agnes' arms were left blank. The roll was signed by "Willm Dugdale Garter, principalis Rex Armorum". In addition in the margin there is a list of inscriptions on brass from gravestones in the parish church of Charlwood, including: "Hic jacet Rictus Sander gentleman qui obiit Ao Dni MCCCCLXXX et Agnes uxor ejus quae obiit Viio die Januarii Ao Dni MCCCCLXXXV etc."

3276 Susan, Dorothy's younger sister, married Sir Walter Hungerford. Sir Walter Hungerford whom Susanna Danvers married belonged to the elder, or Heytesbury, branch of the family, and was called to Parliament in 28 Henry VIII. by the title of Lord Hungerford of Heytesbury.

Walter appears to have made himself obnoxious to the king by opposing his schemes, and was attainted and executed on Tower Hill in 1541. Lord Hungerford was three times married; first to Susan Danvers, second to Alice Sandys, third to Isabel, daughter of Lord Hussey. By Susan, his first wife, he had a son. Sir Walter, who is mentioned in Dame Ann's Danvers will. He became Sir Walter of Farley Castle. He left a son and three daughters, but the son died without issue.

    EQUITY COURT.
(Before Mr. Justice A H. Simpson, Chief Judge in Equity.)
    PROPOSED SALE OF CITY PROPERTY.
Re the Will of William Watson, deceased.
Mr S A Thompson, instructed by Mr. Lumsdaime, appeared for the petitioners, Mrs Watson, William George Watson, Charles Russell Watson, Walter Carter Watson, H. S. Watson, and Mrs Rowland, the firstnamed being the widow and the others the children of the late Mr William Watson; Mr. Sheppard, instructed by Mr Barker, appeared formally for the respondents, who were certain other children, and the mortgagees. There was a petition for the sale of the estate settled by the will of Mr. William Watson, of Richmond. The estate in question consists of the properties known as Nos 3, 5, and 7 Gresham-street, Nos 1, 3 and 5, Spring-street, Sydney, and also the Bells Hotel in Woolloomooloo, and the will of the testator settled the estate as for the use of the widow for life, with remainder to the children in equal shares. The grounds of the petition were that the buildings upon those properties were now old and incapable of yielding an adequate return unless extensive alterations and repairs were effected, and there was not sufficient money available in the estate to carry out the necessary improvements.
His Honour directed that there should be a sale out of Court, subject to the approval of the Master in Equity, the net proceeds of the sale to be paid into Court. Costs of all parties to be paid out of the proceeds of the sale.

James Russell aft. 11 May 1694.
By his first marriage Russell had acquired an estate near Whitchurch and represented the borough in Parliament from 1685. ... Russell was returned both for Whitchurch and Tavistock in 1695, but was unseated on petition for the latter borough on 13 Mar. 1696. ...In an analysis of the House of early 1700 he was listed as a member of the Bedford and Orford (Edward Russell) interest.

Russell’s second marriage, to a young widow worth £40,000, had allowed him to purchase a Northamptonshire estate, where he took up residence and thereafter allowed his electoral interest at Whitchurch to lapse. In 1702 he was returned for Tavistock on his family interest, but was unseated on petition on 21 Dec. 1703. Following the death of his nephew, the 2nd Duke of Bedford, in 1711, he was involved with his elder brother, Lord Edward, in the management of the Bedford estates. Russell died on 22 June 1712.
